Andrea Ippolito is the CEO and Founder of SimpliFed, a virtual baby feeding support platform. She previously was a faculty member at Cornell, a Presidential Innovation Fellow based out of the White House, and Co-founder of Smart Scheduling, an intelligent software used to schedule medical practices, which has been acquired by athenahealth. In this episode, Andrea discusses her journey to build a platform to support new moms every step of the way, the value of having a peer mentor as a guide, and the importance of investing in and uplifting other female entrepreneurs.
"However you decide to feed your baby, we've got your back," says Andrea Ippolito, founder of SimpliFed. Whether you decide to breastfeed your baby or feed formula, you deserve access to support along the way. With SimpliFed, expecting moms have an opportunity for prenatal baby feeding education so that they are more prepared once their child is born. The platform assists with breastfeeding education like learning how to get the baby to latch and addressing milk supply concerns, in addition to helping parents access insurance-covered breast pumps. SimpliFed also provides help for mothers who do not choose to breastfeed or who choose to feed a combination of breastmilk and formula. They strongly believe in a mother's right to choose how to feed her baby, helping distribute formula and standing against the stigma that parents who choose formula often face from family, friends, and healthcare providers.
