LONDON, U.K. - Days after the head of Jaguar Land Rover warned about the impact of Brexit and diesel policy on manufacturing, the carmaker has announced plans to cut output at its U.K. car plant.
Jaguar Land Rover said that output at the company's Castle Bromwich plant in England will go down to a three-day week.
A Jaguar Land Rover spokesperson said that the Castle Bromwich facility will operate a three-day week from October until the beginning of December in a move which will affect around 1,000 staff but avoid job cuts.
The company said in its statement, "In light of the continuing headwinds impacting the car industry, we are making some temporary adjustments to our production schedules at Castle Bromwich."
